When you want to make something special for your next birthday, you need to be sure to make it fresh.
That’s because fresh ingredients are much more expensive.
Here are some ideas to make fresh and easy to make cakes.
You can use the ingredients that are available in your grocery store.
Make the cake in a single pan, or make several smaller pans.
For a small cake, make a batch and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
For larger cakes, make multiple smaller pans to fit in a larger dish.
The pans you make in the freezer will keep for a few weeks.
You’ll want to reheat the pans on a cookie sheet for a week or two to prevent them from sticking to the bottom.
Bake the cakes in the oven at 425 degrees F (180 degrees C) for about 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the cake you’re making.
This is the time when they’ll soften and brown on the bottom and the top.
Remove the cakes from the oven after they’ve cooled and let them sit for about 5 minutes.
They should still be warm.
To make them easier to peel off the parchment paper, use a knife or a fork to slice them into squares or round cakes.
Use a large metal spatula to remove the parchment.
Remove each cake and place it in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil to drain and dry.
The cake will keep at room temperature for up to a week.
When ready to bake, remove the cake from the pans and brush the edges of each cake with melted butter.
Use your fingers to press the butter over the cake so it’s easier to pull off the edges.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the top of the cakes are golden brown.
To serve, top each cake layer with a layer of chocolate ganache and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
