Samson’s haircare brand is a bit of a cult favorite, and its latest offerings are pretty darn tasty.
Its hair products are among the most popular in the world, so naturally, it’s no surprise that the brand’s head of salon operations, Michael Samson, has developed a slew of products for a more adventurous clientele.
The brand’s latest offering, the Ulta Hair Care, is a hair treatment with a twist: It includes a unique blend of botanicals and natural ingredients that make for a completely natural, organic hair care.
“This is not shampoo, this is not conditioner, this really is hair care,” Samson told Bloomberg in a phone interview.
“And I think that people are really interested in natural ingredients and how they are able to achieve hair health.”
The products are available in three basic formulations: the Ultra-Hair Care (which has a high concentration of botanical extracts), the Ultan Hair Care (with a much lower concentration of ingredients) and the Apocalyptic (with less than 1 percent botanical extract).
“The Ulta shampoo is really a really simple product.
You just use a few drops, and you feel it instantly,” Samson said.
As for the botanics, the hair products feature a mix of extracts of herbs, flowers and spices that Samson says are “natural and nourishing” and “better for your hair.”
“You don’t need to have a lot of the things that people think about when they think of botany and herbal products,” Samson explained.
“You don’ even need to be a chemist.
You can have a good look.”
Samson, who is currently based in Los Angeles, hopes the new products will appeal to a wider audience, and the brand is currently looking to raise $1 million through a Kickstarter campaign.
“People want natural, nourishing products that are super-clean and really natural and don’t have chemicals in them,” Samson added.
“The Ultan shampoo is a really good example of what we’re trying to do.
We’re really excited about it.”
For those interested in purchasing the products, Samson said he expects to release more in the coming weeks.
Ulta’s Apocalyptic hair care line is available at the company’s website, and Samson said the company is looking to expand to other retail locations soon.
